HP has announced the HP ProBook x360 Education edition, an affordable Windows 10 machine built for students and teachers. Featuring several education-specific features, the device will be released on December 16th, and will be coming soon to the HP Education Store.

Sporting a hard, industrial rubber encasement, and optional damage-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass, the device has a touch screen which enables the Windows Ink feature, as well as support for an optional active pen.  For teachers specifically, a “Take a Test” app is also built into the laptop, which enables a browser-based, locked-down environment for more secure, online assessments.

Additionally, a “Set up School PCs” app is also included on the device, so a teacher can set up devices in three easy steps, without the need for dedicated IT support. Students, meanwhile, can enjoy the “explorer mode” dual camera system which uses a 1080p HD camera embedded on the keyboard deck to let students take video in tablet mode while viewing what they’re recording in real-time.
