HP is ready to take on the budget-friendly Chromebooks with its own Stream 11 notebook. The notebook comes with an extremely affordable $199.99 price tag, and is now available for sale on Amazon, as well as the company’s website.
Before you get too excited, you should know that this is just an entry-level machine, which is capable of handling your basic day-to-day tasks such as browsing, emails, Skype, and similar tasks. The notebook is lightweight, and if you are in the above-mentioned category, it’s definitely a device worth taking a look.
For quick refresher, the HP Stream 11 comes with an 11.6-inch display boasting a resolution of 1366 by 768 pixels, and is powered by an Intel Celeron processor clocked at 2.16GHz. There’s 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, one USB 2.0 port, one USB 3.0 port and a 3-cell, 37 Wh Li-ion polymer battery which the company touts an average timing of eight hours on a single charge.
On the software front, it comes with Windows 8.1 with Bing, and also features a free one year Office 365 Personal subscription for its users. It doesn’t end there — the Amazon product page lists the notebook with a free $25 Windows Store credit which can be spent on games, apps and more.
