Impact Winter is an Early Access survival game that will put your intelligence, resourcefulness, and patience to the test. In it, you’ll take on the role of Jacob Solomon, the leader of a makeshift team trying to survive after a devastating asteroid collision.
With the whole world now buried beneath constant snowfall, your mission is difficult. Be brave enough to keep your companions alive until rescue and in 30 days, help should reach you. Until then, you need to struggle to survive in this hostile environment.
The good news is that you can lower the Rescue Timer, provided that you find the right strategy:
A key part of the gameplay loop takes inspiration from classic RPGs where you earn ‘experience’ and ‘level-up’. In Impact Winter, you’ll be rewarded for your discoveries and choices, and this will strengthen Ako-Light’s signal and lower the Rescue Timer.
Learn to be a leader who listens to his team and if you unite your skills, you’ve got more chance to survive. This is definitely not an easy task as the hard winter conditions seem determined to kill you. Keeping your team’s morale high is as essential as breathing:
Impact Winter isn’t designed as a people simulator. Instead, your team will think and act for themselves, moving, eating, drinking, sleeping and keeping themselves occupied. You won’t be in charge of telling people where to go, instead you’ll be leading over them in a more managerial way. Organizing rations, choosing what gets built, assigning roles, solving dilemmas and even choosing sides in an argument. This isn’t a game that’s built on micromanagement.
