Microsoft is proud to announce that Xbox Academy is back in session at the Microsoft Store! This year, the flagship Microsoft Stores in New York and Sydney, Australia will be offering Xbox Academy game development classes for free.

This year, Microsoft will be offering the free game development classes in a partnership with the Academy of Interactive Entertainment (AIE). AIE is a renown organization in the game development, 3D animation, and visual effects industries and is partnering with Microsoft to provide education to the next generation of game developers for Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs.

Xbox Academy will offer three courses; Game Development, Game Programming, and Game Design, providing insight and education into a different stage of game development to help aspiring game developers to turn their ideas into playable games. Xbox Academy students will be able to save their games for further development on their own time.

Even if you can’t take part in the Xbox Academy in New York or Sydney, you can still take part by using your Xbox One as your own game development kit.  You can learn how to develop games on your own through the Xbox Live Creators Program. The Xbox Live Creators Program allows you to publish games to Xbox One and Windows 10 through a simple process; open a Dev Center account.

Students aged 14 years and over are invited to participate in Xbox Academy and can register via the links below:
