Microsoft has started testing the latest Xbox One system update with members of the Xbox One Preview Alpha Skip Ahead Ring this month, and unfortunately, the preview build released last Thursday caused some issues with apps and games failing to launch. Brad Rossetti, Manager of the Xbox Preview Program explained yesterday that these issues result from the core OS being “corrupted” following this latest update.
As it appeared, the only way to fix these issues is to do an OS refresh, and this is exactly what the latest Xbox One preview build released yesterday will do to your console. This factory refresh build won’t touch your apps, games and cloud saves, but you’ll have re-add your Xbox Live profile and log in to all your media apps all over again.
Xbox One Insiders – Preview Alpha Skip Ahead users we will be releasing a new 1810 build at 2.00pm PDT 7/8/18. This is a Factory Refresh build to fix the OS upgrade issue. Your games and apps are left just profiles and media profiles removed – you can backup profiles to EXT HDD

After identifying and fixing this critical issue, the Xbox team is still hard at to work to fix another issue with various headsets and mics not working properly with the latest 1810 preview builds. The company detailed a workaround in yesterday’s release notes, and Rossetti added that the team needs a little more time to release a fix.
