Microsoft is currently testing a new feature in its browser Edge. The feature will allow users to open PWAs directly from the address bar as first spotted by Leopeva64-2 on Reddit.

If you have a website installed as an app on your device, Edge’s suggestion dropdown list in the address bar will now feature an option that will let you open the site in the app. Here’s an illustration of how this neat feature works:

The feature is currently available to users using the Canary version of the browser. Aside from the new capability, Canary users also have access to a new “Install app” button in the address bar which is in place to facilitate quick installation of web apps.

In related news, Microsoft is also working on a new version of Edge dubbed Phoenix as well as a new capability that will allow users to split one tab into two windows. Share your thoughts with us below.
