While the phrase “meeting room” may still be kind of taboo to say amid the global COVID-19 pandemic, Lenovo is still pushing through with trying to modernize the experience with its latest ThinkSmart Hub solution. While the release of this new device may be a bit of a head-scratcher for some, Lenovo has done its homework, and according to a recent company survey, “52 percent of the global workforce expects to continue to work from home more than previously, and 63 percent feel they are more productive”.

In the spirit of the “new normal” Lenovo is looking to help in a potential workplace evolution that involves more flexible hybrid working models with the Lenovo ThinkSmart Hub. “The Hub includes four improved, integrated speakers and microphones for a superior audio experience and a 10.1-inch Full HD, 360-degree rotating touch display for easy access to Microsoft Teams Rooms meeting controls. It also comes with a single cable mechanism that streamlines power, ethernet, USB, and display connections, reducing desk clutter,” the company explained.

Lenovo is showing off the Hub’s collaborative prowess by highlighting its integrated Microsoft Teams experience, and that comes on the heels of Microsoft’s Ignite digital conference where several other Teams-dedicated hardware have been shown off. According to Lenovo, the latest ThinkSmart Hub is 20% smaller than the previous-gen, has more visible LED indicators, and powered by an Intel Core i5 processor with vPro technology. The ThinkSmart Hub will be available in October 2020, starting at $1,799.
