March Madness: YouTube TV gets multiview on iOS and iPadOS but looks like Android has to wait

Google is rolling out multiview support to YouTube TV, letting iOS and iPadOS subscribers watch multiple games simultaneously. However, the feature is not yet available for Android devices, but the company promises to launch on the platform in the coming months.

The feature is already present on TVs, and it comes with preset options, allowing you to watch 2 to 4 games simultaneously. Furthermore, you can use the build-your-own-choice feature to select the games you want.

Subscribers on iPads and iPhones need to update the YouTube app to version 8.11 or later to use the Multiview feature.

The feature can be accessed from the Home tab, which includes other options like Top Picks for You and Watch in Multiview, but it works only for sports events. Once you’ve used it, press the back button to close the Multiview stream.

According to YouTube TV, device and content restrictions apply for Multiview, and it is limited to pre-selected games only.

A basic YouTube TV plan costs $72.99 per month, and other add-on packages are available, including NBA League Pass, which can cost $49.99 for the entire season.

As soon as the company was announced, many users responded to the news on Reddit. One user, thepottsy said:

I tried it out on my iPad yesterday. I was very skeptical that I would ever use it, on such a small display. I was wrong, it’s pretty darn cool.

However, some of the users commented that the company should have released the feature on Android first.
