Ridley Scott’s latest sci-fi action adventure movie The Martian starring Matt Damon has landed in the Windows Store. This sci-fi movie was well received as being different from typical space dramas with large explosions and epic space battles. Instead, this space survival story focused on celebrating the ingenuity and human spirit of a scientist explorer stranded on Mars. The only way for him to hold out long enough for a rescue team and return home is to invent his way out of problem after problem. The movie was based on a best-selling self-published book by Andy Weir, a software engineer turned author.

The movie is available for purchase in Windows Store for $14.99. Unfortunately, there is no discount for the SD version compared to the HD version, and the movie is not available as a rental. But if you are looking for a well reviewed sci-fi movie to watch with family and friends during the holiday, the Martian is a great pick.
