Microsoft announces public preview of the new Office 365 Import Service

In an attempt to make large email migrations easier, Microsoft is launching the Office 365 Import Service, which aims to speed up the process of importing PST files into Exchange Online mailboxes. “We are thrilled to announce the public preview of the new Office 365 Import Service, which provides two new options for speeding up the process of importing PST files into Exchange Online mailboxes,” Microsoft stated in an official blog post. Check out the two new options:

  • Option 1: For smaller sets of data, you can utilize network uploads of PST files to Microsoft servers, which will then be imported into Exchange Online mailboxes.
  • Option 2: For larger datasets, you can copy PST archive files onto hard drives and mail them directly to Microsoft datacenters. Once received, the PST files are copied to internal servers and then imported into Exchange Online mailboxes.

So how do you get started? Log into Office 365 admin center and click the Import tab on the left-hand side. From there, you can choose one of the two options mentioned above. Give it a try and let us know if you like it!
