Microsoft Insider Bug Bash 2024

According to a new Microsoft Twitter post from the Windows Insider Program account, the first Bug Bash of 2024 will kickstart on February 28 and last until March 4 For Windows and March 12 for Windows Server 2025.

Although the name of the event is self explanatory, the Bug Bash is all about Microsoft asking the Windows Insiders to help them identify and patch bugs within their OSes.

This is a big deal because the latest Bug Bash was in July, 2023.

How will the new Bug Bash unfold?

To participate in the Bug Bash, you need to open the Feedback Hub (Win + F), then access the Quests menu and complete them.

The quests are usually a series of tasks to try out new features and settings, and then report back your findings.

In return, you will receive badges within the achievement section. There are some conditions to apply to. For instance, to participate in the Windows Server 2025 Bug Bash, you will need to update your OS to Build 26063, which is the latest iteration.

Is the Bug Bash for Windows 11 as well?

In the Microsoft announcement, they say that the Bug Bash event is for Insiders from the Dev and Canary channels. However, strangely enough, within the Feedback Hub we could only spot the Windows Server 2025 Bug Bash.

This was also spotted by other users responding to the Windows Insider Program Twitter post.

So, it’s not actually clear if the Bug Bash is also for Windows 11 Insiders or it’s only available in certain regions.
