Microsoft appears to be planning to remove File History in Windows 10 this year

In a build that accidentally escaped outside of Microsoft earlier this week, we’ve been able to discover new information, such as Windows 10 Mobile’s keyboard coming to Windows 10 PCs but, now we’re finding out that Microsoft looks to be planning to remove its built-in backup solution, File History, from Windows 10.

WalkingCat, well-known for digging out information from builds, has discovered references in build 16212 to dialogs that state “File History is no longer supported”:

With no official announcement from Microsoft, it is unclear what the company’s plans will be, as File History is commonly used for backups, negating the need to rely on potentially confusing and costly third-party alternatives.
