For those of you enjoying your nifty Microsoft Band, there is a new version of the Band Sync app for Windows available to download. This is not an app you get from the Windows Store, rather it’s a traditional ‘application’ (remember those?) that you can install on Windows 7, Windows 8.1, or Windows 10.

This software syncs your Microsoft Band to the cloud with the same account that you use on your Windows phone companion app. It works on Windows 7 and higher, and it syncs your data even when your phone is charging via USB. You can also get updates and restore the software on your Band, which is a neat feature.

For those wondering what’s new in this particular update, Microsoft has made the design a bit more consistent in terms of the app’s layout and alignment of interface elements. In other words, the app just looks prettier than before. The Redmond giant also added new options to the home page of the app, allowing you to quickly access your Band’s settings, check the about page of the app, view your Health Dashboard, and see or edit your profile.
