Two months ago at its Ignite 2016 conference, Microsoft introduced the first preview of ArcGIS Maps for Power BI, a new feature created in collaboration with Esri to allow Power BI users to apply advanced styling properties to maps including map themes, detailed color preferences and more. Today, the company announced that the preview is finally available on PowerBI.com:
When creating reports in PowerBI.com, you can start using the ArcGIS Maps for Power BI visual, pin ArcGIS Maps for Power BI to dashboards and share those dashboards with your colleagues. You can also publish your Power BI Desktop files containing the ArcGIS Maps visual and share them within your organization through the Power BI service.
These enhanced mapping capabilities are expected to become available in the Power BI mobile apps soon, the company explained in today’s blog post. You can learn more about ArcGIS Maps for Power BI on Esri’s website.
