According to the Microsoft blog post earlier today, the Surface has been sold at nearly double the amount last year to students and educators. The business of providing tools for higher learning is a goal that Microsoft has often had its hand in. That’s probably why they announced a new Surface Complete for Education warranty that appeals to the clumsy hands of students and teachers alike.

The warranty will cover as many accidental claims as the school purchases. For example, if a school purchases 200 Surface devices, they can claim one device of accidental damage up to 200 times instead of a single device being claimed only once or twice. The warranty also includes onboarding resources that will work best for education.

Surface Complete for Education will be priced at $225 for Surface Pro 4 and $359 for Surface Book in the U.S., but prices will vary depending on location and device otherwise. The warranty is available for U.S. customers tomorrow while international partners will need to wait until it’s released at the end of the month, September 30.
