Microsoft decided to stop the rollout of the simplified tray area in Windows 11

Just as you believed everything was revealed in Windows 11, Microsoft has chosen to retreat on one of its newest aspects. In the past week, this technology company introduced another preview build into Beta Channel, which exhibits a simplified tray area in Windows 11, among other alterations.

The latest tray is designed to improve your desktop experience. It allows hiding the notification bell icon and switching to a more compact date-time format. However, as fate would have it, not everything went according to plan.

Microsoft had to pause the rollout because some issues that were not explicitly named had arisen. Even though the build can still be taken, the simplified tray area feature has been temporarily put on hold.

No worries for people who were expecting this. You can still reach your notifications by tapping the Notification Center’s date and time. And if you miss the previous appearance, go back to the old style with a long form of date/time and bell icon visuals from Settings. It’s all about giving users options to customize their experience.

However, the change mentioned might not function as intended in building 22635.3930. Other alterations, like taskbar thumbnail animations, shared content in File Explorer, and new taskbar shortcuts, are still active. Microsoft is introducing these features step by step, and those who don’t want to wait can manually turn them on with the ViVeTool app.

Microsoft’s decision to stop and solve problems before they become big temporarily indicates that quality must always remain high.
