Microsoft has recently filed a mysterious registration for a what seems to be a new game, reports Dualshockers, with an application dated December 15th, 2015.
The mysterious software, titled “Fragments”, is filed under Class 9, which identifies it as game software (thus the assumption.)
Additionally, some eagle-eyed Redditors have uncovered further evidence that points to the holographic nature of this mystery. A screenshot album taken from the “Possibilities” trailer for Microsoft HoloLens reveals a shot of a woman pinning a whole bunch of app tiles in the air, one of which looks a lot like “Fragment”.
Additionally, a student game project from Vancouver Film School with the same name was uncovered, with the game’s environment and interactions looking like a good fit for HoloLens, based on what we’ve seen so far.
Of course, at this point, all are speculations (yes, we notice the added “s” in Microsoft’s title), and we won’t know what “Fragments” actually is until Microsoft put the word out. We will be keeping a close eye on this one and update you as more info surfaces.
