If you’re an Outlook.com user with a personal Microsoft email account (hotmail.com, msn.com, outlook.com, etc), you may have noticed an increase in spam emails, which seems to have become noticable roughly two months ago. That came to a head yesterday when the offending emails jumped from 3-5 per day to over 20 for a number of users, including our personal mail here.
It seems to be a common problem, as noted by the many responses to Mary Jo Foley’s tweets on the issues from yesterday.
Later in the day though, the Outlook Twitter account reported that the issue was fixed:
Hi there, we're sorry about the inconvenience. Our team investigated and confirmed the spam issue should now be resolved, thanks for your patience.

And indeed, this morning, instead of the multiple spam messages in our inbox, there was only one, a great advancement. Have you been inundated with spam in your Outlook.com accounts? Did it get better today? Let us know in the comments below.
