a Software Engineer at Azure Search, has taken to the official Microsoft Azure blog to announce that Microsoft has placed Azure Search blob and table indexer portal support into a preview.

This support means that Office documents, HTML,  PDF, and many other documents are now searchable from the Import Data Wizard.  Seen above, the support comes in the form of a simple user interface which is designed to help users pick and choose accounts and containers from within a subscription. Ultimately, though, the blob indexer can detect metadata fields, suggest indexes, and open all documents and extract text into the content field.
