Microsoft is set to introduce Purview’s new streamlined and unified portal that offers access to all solutions in one single place to users everywhere, starting July 2024, according to the latest entry in the Microsoft 365 Roadmap.

The new portal will allow IT admins, managers, and cybersecurity experts to access data security, data governance, and risk and compliance solutions for all data, no matter where this data is located. They can also access other settings, such as global search, recommendations, and roles and permissions management, everything in a single portal.

Here’s what the entry says:

The new Microsoft Purview portal has a streamlined design and unified experience that helps you discover and access data security, data governance, and risk and compliance solutions for all your data, wherever it lives across your data estate. This means you can now access all Purview solutions in one single portal, as well as experiences such as settings, global search, recommendations, and roles and permissions management.

Microsoft

The new Microsoft Purview portal greatly enhances productivity due to quick access to all tools necessary to keep the data secure and safe. This is extremely important, especially in time-tight situations because it allows for quick action without having to look for settings scattered all across the platform.

The tool is quite useful for any kind of organization dealing with a lot of data, as we explained in this article. So, with the new portal, data management will not only be safer, but more productive and easier to handle.

The general availability will happen in July 2024, according to the roadmap, but it will most likely take the full month to be entirely rolled out. We don’t know if it’s going to happen gradually, or all of the sudden, but given Microsoft’s past experiences with releasing new features, the new portal will most likely be released gradually to organizations.
