A new feature called SharePoint News for Email has been introduced. It allows users to convert their SharePoint News Posts into email distributions that can be read directly in email inboxes. Earlier this month, Microsoft made efforts to make it easier to use Copilot with Sharepoint.
With SharePoint news, users can create and share news within their organization. This tool allows you to go beyond plain text and create compelling news stories that keep your teams and organization informed.
This feature enables users to directly engage their audience through their email inboxes directly, making consuming news content easier. Furthermore, this feature allows tracking the number of times the email is read. SharePoint News authors can now send news posts as emails, which enhances their ability to share news content. During the discussion, some crucial topics were covered.
- Templates:Â Users can select “Made for email” templates from the news template picker to create posts suitable for email distribution.
- Posting News:Â Users can post a fully viewable email of their News post with just one step.
- Permissions:Â Sending a page as an email will not change existing site permissions. Recipients of the email will only have access to the content of the email and not the original SharePoint page.
The feature will be rolled out to Targeted Release customers starting in August 2023. It will be available to all customers by the end of September 2023.
A live video demo of the feature is mentioned, and there’s also a reference to Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 124803.
