Microsoft and Apple have long been rivals, but Houston residents may soon have an easier and more convenient way to choose between Macbook or Surface. Indeed, according to the Houston Chronicle, the Microsoft Store in Houston’s Galleria is moving in right next door to Apple’s retail store.
The former Microsoft store in the Houston Galleria was located in a different wing and required a bit of walking to get to. Now, the new and more central Microsoft Store location is close to the Galleria ice skating rink, and the mall’s primary elevators. It also happens to be right next to the Apple Store, with only a Swarovski crystal separating the two tech giants.
A Microsoft spokesperson tells the Chronicle that the new location will have more “customer-facing space.” The statement goes on:
“We identify Microsoft Store locations based on our customers’ needs and preferences and the best shopping destinations. This location ticked all those boxes plus gives us added flexibility for greater in-store consumer experiences”
The new Microsoft Store at the Houston Galleria is set to open on March 23rd. The first 100 customers at the store will receive a $50 gift card, and there will be discounts and giveaways.
