Microsoft Teams has just won a new award at Enterprise Connect 2018, the largest conference/exhibition in the U.S. devoted exclusively to enterprise communications. The team collaboration app has been awarded the Best of Enterprise Connect 2018 award, beating competing products from Cisco, Oracle more at the annual competition that celebrates the best enterprise communication apps.

In the panel of four independent judges, Marty Parker, principal consultant, UniComm Consulting and co-founder, UCStrategies, said that Microsoft Teams was “delivering a significantly advanced user experience” for the workplace:

“When all the new features are evaluated and are compared to the collaborative workspace offers of other UC and UCaaS vendors, it’s clear that Microsoft has delivered a significantly expanded level of communications-centric capability to support the roles and tasks needed to succeed as a knowledge worker, information worker, or manager of those groups.”

It’s been a year now since Microsoft Teams became generally available for Office 365 customers, and Microsoft has iterated fast to make it one of the best team collaboration apps on the market. The app is now being used by over 200,000 organizations worldwide, and it should soon be embraced by more companies after Microsoft finally enabled Guest Access for consumer accounts. In addition to new AI-powered features, the Redmond giant is also reportedly working on a freemium version of Microsoft Teams, which should help to make it even more competitive on the market.
