Microsoft updates Windows 10 version 22H2 with KB5045594, introducing a new account manager

Microsoft has rolled out a new Windows 10 version 22H2 non-security release preview update, KB5045594. The update brings the build number to 19045.5073. It introduces a new account manager on the Start menu and fixes several issues.

The most notable change in this update is the new account manager on the Start menu. The updated design makes it easier to view and access your account settings. To switch to a different user, select the ellipses (…) next to Sign out. The Lock command has also been moved to the power menu.

Additionally, Microsoft has fixed several issues in Windows 10 22H2. The company says it’s resolved a problem where a multi-function printer (MFP) would print specific network command text when you didn’t want it to, as well as an issue where a scanner driver would fail to install when you used a USB cable to connect to an MFP.

Microsoft notes that you’ll need to install update KB5015684 to get today’s update. The company says that if you have installed previous updates, only the new fixes in today’s release will be downloaded and installed on your device.

Microsoft says today’s release has no known issues. You can grab the update from Windows Update now.

Furthermore, Microsoft has released a new servicing stack update, KB5046823, for Windows 10 22H2. The update improves the quality of the servicing stack, which is the component that installs Windows updates.
