Microsoft Viva Enterprise News Reader

Microsoft will replace the current Feed experience in the Viva platform with a new Enterprise News Reader, which will bring together news from all the organizational sites, boost news, and the sites followed by the user.

The new Enterprise News Reader will also feature Copilot, and the AI model will summarize news for users.

In a recent entry to the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, the Redmond-based tech giant says the new Enterprise News Reader will impact desktop, mobile, and web platforms, including Android and iOS devices.

This update will replace the current Feed experience in Viva Connections across desktop, mobile, and web platforms with a SharePoint News reader experience. This new experience will present SharePoint news from the organizational sites, boosted news, user’s followed sites, frequent sites and people they work with in an immersive reader experience. This will include a Copilot powered news summary as well, available in desktop only in this initial release.

The good news (or bad, depending on your perspective) is that the new Enterprise News Reader will be introduced in Microsoft Viva in March 2025, so there is more than enough time to get used to this upcoming change.

Regarding changes, Microsoft recently updated Viva Engage to allow users to edit and schedule polls.
