Microsoft has recently released a new firmware update for the Surface Go 4 tablet launched last year. One of the notable changes brought in by the latest firmware update is Wi-Fi improvements. The new firmware update also drops security patches and fixes connectivity issues when resetting the device.
Microsoft releases a new firmware update for Surface Go 4
Microsoft has updated the Surface Go 4 update history page with all the improvements and fixes rolled out with the latest firmware update released on May 15. The company mentions:
The following update is available for Surface Go 4 devices running Windows 10 November 2021 Update, Version 21H2, or greater.
Improvements and fixes:
- Addresses Wi-Fi related security issues and connection stability during Reset/Recovery.
This latest firmware update for Surface Go 4 also comes with new drivers listed below.

The consumer version of Surface Go 4 is rumored to launch soon
Let’s not forget that this firmware update for Surface Go 4 comes ahead of the rumored consumer launch. There were few reports in the past that Microsoft could launch the consumer variant of the tablet with the same configurations and hardware as the commercial one.
Talking of specs, the Surface Go 4 commercial version features a 10.5-inch IPS display and 8GB LPDDR5 RAM. The tablet is powered by an Intel Processor N200 chip. And, is available in three different storage options – 64GB, 128GB, and 256 GB.
At present, the Surface Go 4 is only available to commercial customers at a price tag of $579 for the base variant. However, the price of the rumored consumer version is unknown to date.
