Microsoft Edge is the default browser on Windows 10 and newer operating systems, and it’s a solid browser overall.

While most users are familiar with Edge, did you know that there’s a secret way that lets you launch the browser?

Here’s how you launch Edge directly from another web browser

You heard us right, it’s possible to open Edge from any other web browser if you ever need to do so. The question remains, would you ever need to do such a thing?

If you can’t find your Edge shortcut or if the application goes missing, then this workaround might come in handy. To open Edge from another browser, you just need to do the following:

  1. Open your browser of choice.
  2. Open the following URL: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge/launch/EdgeLaunch
  3. Optional: Bookmark the URL for future use.
  4. You should now see a pop-up window. Click on the Open Microsoft Edge or Open Link button.

You’ll see a different button depending on your browser, Chrome will show Open Microsoft Edge while Firefox will show Open Link button.

Some users choose to remove Edge in favor of another browser, but removing Edge can break Windows 11 apps and widgets.

Some apps, such as new Outlook won’t work without Edge, so it’s best to keep it installed since it’s an integral part of the operating system.

If you ever encounter issues with Edge and you can’t find it, be sure to use this trick to start it again.
