Along with the release of the Windows 10 October Update 2018 yesterday, Microsoft has also announced improvements for Outlook.com. Users of Microsoft’s free email service will soon be able to see a verified icon from businesses, in much the same way as Twitter and Facebook use one to verify legitimate businesses. This will likely help users to easily identify fake and fraudulent emails.
In addition, users will also be able to click the business’s profile card to access contact info and location, as well as track package deliveries. Users will also be able to check which newsletters they’re subscribed to and easily opt-out of ones they no longer wish to clutter their inboxes.
US Companies can participate in Microsoft’s Business Profile beta, so customers will be able to see the verified icon. Businesses can add in their own profile details, photos, and contact info for Outlook.com users to see. Microsoft is starting with its email service for now, but the official page for the Business Profile beta says that verified businesses will be able to control their presence across other Microsoft services in the future.
