The Surface Pro 3 was released last year to generally positive reviews, and many felt that by this third iteration, that Microsoft had really begun to hit its stride. Now they’ve made its little brother available, no doubt hoping to repeat that success.
Coinciding with consumer availability is a new 30 second TV ad aimed squarely at college-bound high school seniors, who will be graduating in just over a month. “Been wanting a Surface?” it begins, then proceeds to show someone (presumably a student) working on a drawing in OneNote, watching a movie, and playing Halo: Spartan Assault.
The advertisement is mostly your standard fare for the tablet line, but will perhaps resonate with more than a few cash-strapped students, considering that the Surface 3 is the first non-Pro version with the ability to run the entire range of Windows programs. The Pro 3, while undeniably beautiful and interesting, has always lived in a price range that put it out of most students’ reach.
The new advertisement is also viewable on the official Surface YouTube Channel. Check it out above and let us know how effective you think the commercial is in the comments section below.
