Following the exciting announcement yesterday, you can now play the first selection of original Xbox games on your Xbox One (via Windows Central). If you still have the original discs, you can insert them in your console and you’ll have to install a free update before being able to play. The updates are likely necessary to make the original Xbox games run at 1080p resolution with improved graphics and framerates on the new console.

The following 13 titles are now available to purchase on the Microsoft Store, though at the time of this writing it seems that you can’t purchase these digital games from the Xbox Store on your console. It works fine on the web though, so we invite you to use these links below:

While this first selection is a modest start, Xbox’s Lead Program Manager Bill Stillwell shared that the company plans to “release another curated list of Original Xbox classics in spring 2018.” Did you already try to play original Xbox games on your Xbox One? If so, do you enjoy this throwback to the early 2000’s? Let us know below.
