According to data from Downdetector, the issue seems to be mostly affecting users in Europe and the US. We currently don’t have any issues logging into our own Outlook.com email inboxes, so your mileage may vary.
On its Service Health website, Microsoft currently indicates that it has taken some measures to restore the service. “Our analysis indicates that a portion of infrastructure responsible for authentication appears to be operating in a degraded state. We’re removing the affected systems from rotation and rerouting the impacted traffic to mitigate impact,” the company explained.
We invite you to bookmark this page for additional updates from Microsoft, but we’ll also update this post once Outlook.com is fully restored.
Update 10:20 AM PT: Outlook.com is now back up and running according to Microsoft. “We redirected the impacted traffic to alternate systems and confirmed that service has been restored,” the company indicated on Twitter.
