Outlook mobile app will soon have an In-app Contact Editor

According to the Microsoft 365 roadmap page, Microsoft is currently developing an In-app Contact Editor for your Outlook mobile app.

The feature will allow you to create & edit their contacts with a first-party form and is expected to be available in April 2024 for Android and iOS users.

A post on the Outlook blog said:

With our latest release, we’re addressing one of our most highly requested features with improvements to our People experience. You will now have the ability to add and edit contacts right from Outlook on iOS, coming soon on Android. We’ve also completely redesigned the contact card to show more details—including latest conversations and shared files—and enabled easier calling and messaging with your contacts.

Any changes made in Outlook for iOS and Android will be synced and available across all versions of Outlook.

This could revolutionize the way you save your contacts on Outlook and eliminate the need to switch between apps.

Earlier, you could only use the device’s native contacts app to add or edit contacts related to your Outlook contacts.

Microsoft has finally redesigned contact cards in Outlook to ensure the important information is upfront. The contact card now shows recent conversations, upcoming meetings, and shared attachments you have with the person
