Outlook mouse

Microsoft, in a recent entry to the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, says Outlook on the Web and the new Outlook for Windows will make it easier for users to use their mouse as little as possible when navigating these platforms.

Thanks to a new set of optimized actions in the message list, the new set will be modified to support more space and minimize unnecessary mouse travel.

The change will impact only users with the multicolumn message list, making navigating Outlook with your mouse easier and faster.

Here’s what the entry says:

The hover actions in the message list will be modified to be more space efficient and minimize unnecessary mouse travel. This change primarily affects users with the multicolumn (wider) message list. #newoutlookforwindows

The new enhancement will be released in December 2024. Speaking of December, next month, Microsoft will deprecate the Mail and Calendar app, but the company will release an Outlook theme inspired by the app, with the intention of providing an easier way for users to migrate to the platform.
