Outlook Account descriptions

Microsoft wants Outlook users to describe their accounts to other users with a new feature called account descriptions.

It was announced in a recent entry to the Microsoft 365 Roadmap. According to its description, the new feature will allow Outlook users to easily distinguish certain users in their email list.

However, Outlook’s new account description feature should also allow users to personalize their profiles. It’s worth noting that this feature will only be released for Windows’ new Outlook.

Here’s what the entry says:

Outlook users can now set custom descriptions for their accounts, making them easier to tell apart in the folder list and various lists and menus across the application. The description can be set in the account settings. #newoutlookforwindows

The entry says the Redmond-based tech giant will release this feature in January 2025.

Until then, know that the Windows Mail and Calendar apps will be deprecated this month. Microsoft released a neutral theme for Outlook similar to these apps in hopes that users will migrate to Outlook more easily.
