Through a combination of several different campaigns on Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Xbox One consoles this week, the tech giant is discounting over 50 games and game add-ons across both consoles with the majority of the Xbox 360 content being playable on the Xbox One thanks to the backwards compatibility feature that launched in 2015.
Among the more popular titles being discounted are Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, Evolve and the Evolve Digital Deluxe Edition, WWE 2K16 and the WWE 2K16 Digital Deluxe Edition, the first two Bioshock games and Bioshock Infinite, Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Dragon Ball Xenoverse, Saints Row IV: Re-Elected & Gat out of Hell, and Metro 2033.
A good selection of these games and add-ons are available at discounted prices for all Xbox Live users regardless of Gold or Silver (i.e. free) status while several are only available at their cheaper prices for Xbox Live Gold members only. There are also quite a few that have been discounted for Silver members and are also offering an additional discount for those with Gold. Spec Ops: The Line for example, has a recommended retail price of US$29.99 and is now selling for US$9 for Silver members and US$6 for Gold.
The majority of these discounts are part of a special campaign called, 2K Sale, which is being used to promoted video games developed by the game developer, 2K, and the Spotlight Sale. Other titles being reduced are part of the weekly Deals with Gold promotion which offers several titles and add-ons for a reduced price for Xbox Live Gold members on a weekly rotation. All discounted games will return to their regular prices on Monday, i.e. at the end of this month.
Are you tempted to buy any of these Xbox One or Xbox 360 games or add-ons? Let us know which ones in the comments below.
