The Palworld Timeout Error appears when trying to join an ongoing session, not when joining server hosts. To fix this issue quickly, after you get the host’s IP address, click on Join Multiplayer Game from the main menu. On the bottom, replace the IP with the host’s before the :8211 port string.
How do I fix the Palworld Timeout error?
1. Play the game on DirectX 12
On Steam
- Open Steam and go to your library.
- Right-click Palworld and select Properties.
- Type -dx12 in the Launch Options field.
On PC Game Pass
- Right-click on your Palworld shortcut and click Properties.
- In the Target field, you will see the game’s location and .exe file in quotation marks.
- Press Space after the segment with quotation marks, and then type -dx12
- Click on Apply and OK to make the change, then use the modified shortcut to launch Palworld.
2. Forward the ports 27015 and 8211 in Firewall
- Open Windows Defender Firewall and click on Advanced Settings.
- Click on Inbound Rules from the left pane and select New Rule.
- Choose the Port option, then click Next.
- Select UDP, then choose Specific local ports, type 27015, 8211 and click Next.
- Select Allow the connection and click Next.
- Don’t change anything in the next window, just click Next.
- Write a profile name that you can remember.
This will ensure that Palworld has now two dedicated ports for multiplayer in Firewall. However, if you still get the Timeout error or you can’t connect to the multiplayer games, trackback this solution and delete this rule.
