Welcome the Porsche Design BOOK ONE to the Windows 10 2-in-1 family, a somewhat fast-growing family at MWC this year. Porsche Design has released its latest beautifully-designed device at MWC 2017, the BOOK ONE, a 2-in-1 powered by Windows 10 Pro, packing some pretty aesthetics and an abundance of power with it… along with a steep price tag.

Boasting a touchscreen display and Precision Touchpad, the BOOK ONE offers precise, multi-gesture input. In addition to touch input methods, the BOOK ONE also comes with a digital stylus for use with Windows Ink, which is useful for note taking, drawing and various other tasks.

Security and authentication plays a role, too. Coming with a 5MP camera with a built-in infrared sensor, this 2-in-1 is able to work with Windows Hello to authenticate with Windows 10 through facial recognition.

The housing of the BOOK ONE is made out of milled aluminium, coupled with a matte anodized surface finish, bringing its premium look. This device has a trick hidden amongst its beauty – the hinge. While noted to be a 2-in-1 convertible, it is also a 2-in-1 detachable, with the hinge allowing the screen to be detached or rotated 360 degrees.

Inside the BOOK ONE are some impressive bits of hardware:

  • Screen resolution of 3200 x 1800 pixels
  • 13.3″ QHD+ IPS display
  • Intel Core i7-7500U, clocked at 3.5Ghz
  • 16GB RAM
  • Noiseless 512GB Intel SSD
  • 2 USB-C ports
  • 2 USB 3.0 ports
  • Dual-band WiFi
  • Bluetooth
  • Windows 10 Pro

The Porsche Design BOOK ONE will be available in Germany from April 2017 at €2,795 and in the United States at $2,495 (RRP). Other countries’ availability varies; Porsche Design stores will stock the device elsewhere at a later date.
