You can encounter Puget Lakes error BO6, but this issue is also present on MW3 and MW2. The issue will prevent you from playing online, so it’s important to fix it as soon as possible, and this guide will help you do it.

What does Puget Lake mean in COD?

This error usually comes with a Timed Out While Checking Permissions message, and it appears if there are connection problems.

How do I fix the Puget Lakes error?

Before we try anything, ensure that the game is up to date. Restarting the game can also help with this problem.

1. Check the server status

  1. Go to the Activision Online services page.
  2. Select your game from the list.

  3. Check if the servers are online.

If there’s an issue with the servers, you’ll have to wait for Activision to sort the issue.

2. Restart your Internet connection

  1. Press the Power button on your router or modem.
  2. Once the network is down, wait for 30 seconds.
  3. Press the Power button again.
  4. Wait for a minute or two for the network to boot.
  5. Check if the problem is still there.

3. Restart the console

  1. Restart your PS5.
  2. Try to start the game again.
  3. If you get the same error, choose the Go Offline option.
  4. Try again and let it sit for about 5 minutes.
  5. Check if the problem is gone.

4. Use Safe Mode

  1. Hold the PS button on your controller and choose Turn Off PS5.
  2. When the power indicator shuts off, press and hold the Power button on the console until you hear a second beep. This takes about 7 seconds.
  3. Connect your controller using the USB cable.
  4. Press the PS button and go to Clear Cache and Rebuild Database.

  5. Next, select Clear System Software Cache and then OK.
  6. Wait for the console to restart and check if the problem is gone.

5. Sign out of PSN account

  1. Go to Settings and select Users and Accounts.

  3. Now go to Account and choose Sign in.
  4. Enter your credentials.
