Microsoft is currently testing a new UI for Cortana’s Notebook section on Windows 10 PCs. The new design has been discovered by Reddit user Noam_ha (via, and it’s currently rolling to some Windows Insiders running the latest Redstone 4 build.

As you can see in the screenshots below, Cortana’s Notebook has now two sections: the “Organizer” page lets you create To-Do lists and Reminders, while the “Manage Skills” lists all the different Skills that were previously available in the old UI, but they have now been regouped under different categories such as Connection settings, Productivity, Stay up-to-date and Lifestyle.

It’s still not clear if this redesigned Notebook UI could roll out soon to all Windows 10 users, but we find it slightly more usable and organized than what’s currently available on Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile. We already know that Microsoft is planning a lot more changes for Cortana on the desktop, and the digital assistant could look and work more like macOS Spotlight in Redstone 4.
