Windows Mixed Reality headsets from Acer, Dell, and a few other OEMs all launched last month, but Samsung’s high-end headset was noticeably left out of the launch day picture. After being available for pre-order, the Samsung Windows Mixed Reality Odyssey went on sale today at the Microsoft Store but it’s already out of stock.
Priced at $499, the headset packs a fancy AMOLED display with a resolution of 2880 x 1600. This makes for a relatively better viewing experience when compared to the headsets from other manufacturers, which only have 1440×1440 resolution liquid crystal displays. Also unique to the Samsung headset is a pair of built-in AKG headphones.
Though out of stock at certain Microsoft Store online, interested buyers can try their luck by buying/reserving it online and then heading to a physical Microsoft Store to pick up the headset in person. Do you plan on buying a Mixed Reality headset this holiday season? Let us know below.
