It’s about time where students are starting to head back to schools and teachers are manning the classrooms. While many kids are dreading the end of their summer vacations, a lot of instructors are excited to get into a new year of molding the next generation. It’s an exciting time to be an educator and with events like Hack the Classroom on the horizon, the upcoming school year is set to be one of the best in recent years.

If you’re unfamiliar with Hack the Classroom, it’s an online live-streamed event that’s going to be airing on September 24th. The event – made for teachers who want to learn a bit from experts in education – has speakers come out and talk about some of the newest tools and techniques used to really revolutionize the teaching experience. Speakers this year include John Kao, Patricia Romero, Jordan Shapiro, Ph.D. Lauren Pittman, and Dyane Smokorowski.

According to the Hack the Classroom website, the program’s aim is for audiences to:

  • Hear from inspiring speakers and thought leading educators
  • Learn from teachers by taking a glimpse into their classrooms to see how small changes, result in huge student impact
  • Engage, interact, and pose questions with speakers and other educators
  • Gain access to professional development resources and tools to get started

Anybody can tune into the stream, although it’s heavily geared towards educators or aspiring educators. You can check out details on the official website if you’re interested in the upcoming event or you can get involved right now as well. There’s a Class Hacks Contest kicking off on September 5th, where you can submit one-minute classroom hacks that will be shown off during the big show. You can check out previous contest winners right here if you’re looking for ideas.
