If you can’t send messages or initiate video calls on Skype, you’re not the only one. Many users have reported these issues in the last 24 hours.

Well it’s the third day I haven’t been able to send messages.. Skype status says there is a problem with desktop version… I tried iPhone.. android.. also reinstalled… also desktop… nothing working… Skype status says they believe it’s fixed.. just log out then in.. I reinstalled ànd logged in that doesn’t work… tried updating tried my old backup version of skype.. nothing working just calls.

UPDATE 1 (February 7): The messaging issues are no longer listed on Skype’s Support page. This means that Microsoft already deployed the fix mentioned below.

UPDATE 2 (February 10): Unfortunately, the issue persists. Microsoft updated the status of the Skype Service again, stating that:

We have discovered new related issues for the incident and are actively resolving those.
Some users might be experiencing problems with instant messages (chat). There might be delays with sending or syncing messages.
