Slow Ring Office Insiders on Windows 10 PCs are receiving a big update this week, bringing a lot of new features to the Office suite of applications. The update bumps the latest Slow Ring Office version number to 1707, build 8326, and brings support for 3D models in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook (via Neowin.)

Leading off the list of new features is the ability to use 3D models in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook. The Office team notes that this feature you can “Easily insert a 3D model, and then rotate it through 360 degrees” and “Bring 3D models to life in PowerPoint presentations with the Morph transition.” Next up, Excel receives support for Collaborative editing, which allows you to work with others at the same time in your notebook. Interestingly, the Office team also highlights that changes during collaborative work are now autosaved to the cloud, so you can “see others’ updates in seconds.”

There are many other changes and enhancements which are a part of this build. You can see a small preview of these changes by reading below.

  • Designer transforms more types of slides (PowerPoint:) Designer now recommends design ideas for timelines presented as bulleted lists.
  • See what’s changed (PowerPoint:) Slides that have been modified by other users are highlighted
  • While you were away (PowerPoint:) Changes made by others to your worksheets or presentations since your last visit are highlighted.
  • A smarter To: line (Outlook:) When you click the To: line to address a message, we suggest recipients you’re likely to choose. Plus, you can see their picture so you know you’re sending to the right person.
  • Math equations (Outlook:) You can now create and edit math equations using LaTeX syntax.
  • Cloud attachments just got better (Outlook:) Now, when you save or drag and drop OneDrive attachments to your computer, we download the file for you.
  • Editing a new item is more accessible (Access) Use a quick shortcut (Ctrl+E) to edit a new item from a Combo Box or List Box.

If you’re not already an Office Insider on Windows 10, you can opt in by going to the file menu, selecting account, click on the Office Insider tile, and then select “get early access to new releases of Office.” You can then visit the Additional Install Options page of My Account, and then choose Insider Fast or Insider Slow from Version menu, and press Install.
