Steve Ballmer during CES 2013

Several hours ago, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer unveiled the major restructuring for the software giant. Top company executives received new roles and Ballmer’s grand vision of transforming Microsoft into a “devices and services” began its full effect.

In a new short video published to Microsoft’s YouTube account, you can hear Ballmer talk about Microsoft’s new strategy during a company Town Hall meeting which took place yesterday. Microsoft’s new strategy is this: “Create a family of devices and services for individuals and businesses that empower people around the globe at home, at work and on the go, for the activities they value the most.”

“Intended for broadcast journalists, this broadcast quality footage highlights Microsoft’s announcement of a company realignment, organizing by function. This package includes sound from Steve Ballmer, CEO, Microsoft and footage of the Microsoft Town Hall Meeting. Footage in the second half of the video is intentionally silent,” the video description reads. We’ve embedded the video below for your viewing pleasure. It is nearly 3 minutes long.
