One of the games that made the biggest impression last night during Microsoft’s Xbox Games Showcase was Tell Me Why, a narrative adventure title by the makers of the hit Life is Strange franchise.
Much like Life is Strange, Tell Me Why features a strong emphasis on story, characters, and mysterious powers that double as a plot device and a game mechanic to help unlock secrets.
Here’s the full game description and trailer:
Tell Me Why is the latest narrative adventure game from DONTNOD Entertainment, the studio behind the beloved franchise, Life is Strange. In this intimate mystery, reunited twins Tyler and Alyson Ronan use their supernatural bond to unravel the mysteries of their loving but troubled childhood. Set in beautiful small-town Alaska, Tell Me Why features true-to-life characters, mature themes and gripping choices.
As you conjure up memories of the past, your choices will affect the twins’ relationship, determine the strength of their bond, and shape the course of their lives.
Tell Me Why will be released in three parts with the first launching on Xbox One and Windows on August 27th. The second and third parts are set to launch on September 3rd and 10th respectively. All three chapters will be available to play for free for Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
