KB5052093

Microsoft released the KB5052093 patch to the Release Preview Channel on Windows 11, 24H2. With it, the Redmond-based tech giant fixed many of the operating system’s frustrating bugs, including the one that prompted the Taskbar to mistake HDDs for SSDs.

The company admitted that Windows 11 might have mistaken one device for another. While this may seem like an innocent bug, it could have huge consequences.

Some inexperienced Windows users who are not tech-savvy might have purchased an SSD instead of an HDD when considering upgrading. This, in turn, could lead to various other issues, such as incompatibility bugs and so on.

Fortunately, Microsoft entirely fixed it with KB5052093. The patch also brings the new Windows Spotlight capabilities to the operating system.

This build also introduces the new Narrator capabilities and the new PC Game Pass subscription on the Settings home page.
