Microsoft Windows Server 2025 and System Center 2025 are now available for general use, and Microsoft has shared a list of supported processors for Windows Server 2025.
Windows Server 2025 now supports Intel’s second through fifth gen Xeon Scalable Processors (SP), Xeon 6 SP processors, Xeon E and D series chips, and several modern Pentium CPUs. On the AMD front, Windows Server 2025 has been certified with AMD’s EPYC 7002, 7003, 8004, 9004, and 9005 series chips, but notably not with any Hygon CPUs.
In a support document, the company notes that the list of supported processors is only a prerequisite for system certification and doesn’t itself determine support. Microsoft will evaluate and update the list as new appropriate processors become available.
Microsoft has been testing compatible hardware and software for certification since May and last provided an update on the testing process in September.
