YouTube Like button is not working properly

Do you remember tapping YouTube’s Like button (thumbs up), and it abruptly disappeared? It’s not a one-time thing. The thumbs-up icon likes to vanish unexpectedly, but it’s not due to any malfunction. Even though the counter for likes is gone, it keeps on increasing and making a gray area that leaves questions. This problem is not just with some videos or certain browsers: it’s an issue we all notice and talk about – me along with my work friends.

Google says they fixed the problem

Ironically, as the like button takes a break, the dislike button is unaffected and keeps working without any issues. YouTube recognizes this issue and explains on a support page that the like button isn’t working as intended. This problem impacts videos only on web platforms, not on mobile devices. They made it clear that the video is still receiving the likes even without the icon. This occurrence is not a new one for YouTube’s like button, as some months ago, users on Reddit also revealed their experiences with it.

On the same support page we mentioned above, Google announced that it has fixed the issue, so all should be ok now. Is the vanishing like button just a small hiccup in our digital journey, or does it indicate something more serious happening behind the scenes? Well, we can only hope that the YouTube like glitch is fixed for good now.
