tiktok notes to be released soon

After securing a solid position in the short video-sharing apps segment, TikTok is making strides in the photo-sharing app market. There were previously rumours that TikTok was working on photo-sharing apps. We now have confirmation that it will be called TikTok Notes.

In the last few days, many TikTok users have received prompts about TikTok Notes detailing the app’s functioning and how it would change things. Besides, there’s a toggle to enable/disable photo sharing on TikTok Notes.

TikTok’s executive also confirmed this to TechCrunch.

As part of our continued commitment to innovating the TikTok experience, we’re exploring ways to empower our community to create and share their creativity with photos and text in a dedicated space for those formats.

Though there is no official confirmation regarding the release date, we expect it to be soon, given TikTok has started the outreach.

Can TikTok Notes compete with Instagram?

TikTok Notes, in the early days, might be a match for Instagram in terms of the number of photo posts.

TikTok Notes doesn’t need to onboard new users at a massive scale. Its already available user base will drive the numbers in the initial days, as was the case with Threads. But if the app isn’t good, the numbers will start to dwindle, and it might reach a state of obscurity.

The initial hype doesn’t necessarily translate into long-term success. The Covid-era fad, Clubhouse, is another example!

On the other hand, if TikTok’s Instagram rival turns out to be good, it will drive engagement and might boast a higher user base than Instagram in some countries. As for those where TikTok faces legal hurdles or is banned, Instagram will retain its position as the market leader.

The coming days will be exciting as TikTok Notes and Instagram battle it out in the photo-sharing app space.

Which of the two do you think will be a better pick? Share with our readers in the comments section.
