How to Turn off the Facebook Chat in Windows 8.1, 10 App
Those of you who have installed the official Facebook app on their Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 devices might have troubles turning off the Chat function. Below are some basic advices on how you can do that.
Facebook has finally unveiled an official app for Windows 8 users when Microsoft has launched the Windows 8.1 update. Since then, the Windows 8.1 Facebook app has received a good number of updates that we’ve covered. We’ve talked recently about video calling and chat problems with the Windows 8.1 Facebook app, but now it’s time to go a little deeper and explain briefly how can we turn off the chat function,
What you need to do is to go to the Facebook Windows 8.1 chat app, click on accounts, then click your Facebook account, and click ‘manage it online’. On the page you’ll be able to disable the chat functionality. If this doesn’t work in the Windows 8.1 app, then you need to go to the web browser and disable this from there, unfortunately.
